Perth iPhone App of the Week – SAVE DODO!

SAVE DODO!

We all thought the DODO birds were killed by a few sailors who first landed on Mauritius Island in the sixteenth century. Well this is a misconceived fact…the DODO was famous for it’s inability to fly but they certainly still longed for it.

In their thirst for height they decided to sit on top of each other to be able to reach the sun in the sky and be able to feel like real birds. We don’t know for sure if they died fried by the sun (not to be confused with Mauritius Fried DODO Myth) or if they simply died when their stack broke. Lets find out and see if you can rewrite the story…

Play the addictive SAVE DODO!! and see how far you can go…

Wikipedia says “The dodo (Raphus cucullatus) was a flightless bird endemic to the Indian Ocean island of Mauritius. Related to pigeons and doves, it stood about a meter (3.3 feet) tall, weighing about 20 kilograms (44 lb), living on fruit, and nesting on the ground.

The dodo has been extinct since the mid-to-late 17th century.” [EDIT] because it was trying to reach the skies by forming a huge stack in order to feel like real birds [EDIT] “or its extinction occurred during recorded human history and was directly attributable to human activity.”

We were not there at the time but we surely can help them achieve their dreams :)

Confused about choosing a Web Designer or Web Development Company?

Choosing your Website Designer shouldn't have to be confusing!

Choosing your Website Designer shouldn't have to be confusing!

Choosing your web designer can be a tricky process.  Everyone seems to offer the same thing, but an entirely different thing at the same time.  The web design industry is full of jargon and TLA’s (Three Letter Acronyms!).  There are freelancers, small/medium/large operations.  Even your Grannys cat said that he would build you one for $100.

To demystify the process, or at least get you going in the right direction, here are some questions you should ask your web designer:

  1. Do you custom design websites that are professional and unique? YES
  2. Do I get a content management system so I can upload text and images myself? YES
  3. Will you provide training in how to use the content management system? YES
  4. Is your content management system genuinely easy to use?  YES
  5. Do you restrict the number of pages I can add to my website? NO
  6. Do you have a free iPhone/Android app so I can update my website when I’m on the train in the morning? YES
  7. Will you submit my site to all the major search engines? YES
  8. Do you have Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) built into the website as standard? YES
  9. Do you have a blogging system so I can add new content, like news and events, to my website every day? YES
  10. Is your platform scalable so when my business expands my website can grow with it? YES
  11. Can you get my site on to page 1 of Google? YES
  12. Do I (the client) own the copyright on my website? YES
  13. Can you do all of my print work such as business cards and brochures? YES
  14. Can you help me market my business effectively online? YES
  15. Can you develop an iPhone App for me? YES
  16. Can you provide video production services? YES
  17. Apart from hosting are there any ongoing or hidden fees? NO

If any web designer or web development company has different answers to the above, then you should definitely consider Nutwork as your digital media agency.

www.lighthousebaking.com.au is proudly brought to you by Anchor Foods and developed by Nutwork Web Design.

The Anchor Foods story began in 1854 when an enterprising young mariner and merchant from the Shetland Isles, Gilbert Wood, took possession of an unpaid cargo.

Where others would have seen ruin he saw opportunity and with great initiative, on-sold the groceries to recover debts.

Opting to leave his life on the high seas, Gilbert started his own grocery store and chose the sign of the Anchor as its symbol. From humble beginnings, the company prospered and quickly gained the reputation of being a first class supplier of quality grocery foods across Australia.

For well over 100 years the port city of Fremantle has been the home of Anchor Foods. The company continues to build on its fine traditions of integrity and reliability, proudly bringing you trusted products under iconic Australian brands.

Trusted by generations of cooks, the Lighthouse brand has stayed true to its heritage, providing only pure ingredients, baking aids and expert knowledge, delivering guaranteed results.
