Google Editions

Google Editions is a new online service from Google that will allow the downloading of electronic books (Ebooks) to mobile telephones, smart phones, iPhones and laptops from next year.

Google plans on starting off their new online service with around 500,000 publications – and that’s just to kick things off.

According to Google, “The books bought from Google, and its partners, would be accessible on any gadget that has a Web browser, including smartphones, netbooks and personal computers and laptops. A book would be accessible offline after the first time it was accessed.”

Twitter Spam

You can now report Twitter users for Spam.

Spam has been an ever growing problem on Twitter as more and more people start using it purely for commercial reasons – and that was never the intention of Twitter.

Every profile now has a Report Spam button listed on it – so you can now block and report those annoying spammers!

Viral Video Marketing

Everyone loves watching a good short video on the internet, and with websites like YouTube there’s no shortage of funny and interesting videos for us to watch during lunch breaks.

But every now and then a really great video comes along – and it goes viral. More often than not these videos are carefully crafted marketing videos that lure us in with a funny story line and a clever advertising tag at the end. Take for example two great Volkswagen Videos that have become very popular at the moment.

IPTV – TV Online

As more and more TV content moves online and viewers can take control of their content, we came across a great article on The Australian this morning, discussing the trend of content being pushed online instead of pushed via free to air.

When the governments planned National Broadband Network (NBN) is completed, your IP based services will feature a large range of products. The report said specifically that “a whole raft of services is envisaged to be delivered over the network, stretching from areas as diverse as power meter monitoring and burglar alarms, through to remote healthcare and education delivered by high-definition video conferencing”.

We’ve already started of course – with our LocoTV website – where you can watch TV shows on-demand and on your own terms.
