How Many Websites Are There – 240,000,000!
Well, according to Netcraft in a July 2009 survey, there we’re a total of 239,611,111 (nearly 240 million) websites that contained content.
Now there’s lots of figures floating around – as an example Google announced last year that it had indexed over 1 trillion URL’s – but that includes holding domain names, sub-domains, and the like. But we’re talking actual websites here – with content, like blogs, online brochures, corporate websites, e-commerce websites, content managed websites, social networking sites, and the like.
