The extent of the intervention by many Governments, like that of the Rudd proposal is unprecedented in our economic history. The Rudd Stimulus proposal will see more than 8 million Australians receiving some level of cash benefit.
There are mixed views about whether the stimulus package will give the economy the lift that is needed to waive off a deep recession in this country.
Sure, there are economic indicators used by economists to determine levels of spending, monthly consumption etc. – but what will the ordinary person do with the stimulus money?
No-one really knows. Economists and commentators can only speculate! And this is what they are doing.
