Google is set to adopt a much more open approach in regards to the magic algorithm it uses for its search engine.
Google’s vice president of engineering, Udi Manber, made the announcement on Google’s corporate blog as part of a “renewed effort” to open up the company’s secrets.
Google has to date maintained an extremely guarded stance on its formula in order to prevent abuse and to stave off competition.
“But being completely secretive is not ideal, and this blog post is part of a renewed effort to open up a bit more than we have in the past,” said Manber.
