Apple iTunes Hits 5 Billion Sales

iTunesApple achieved a huge milestone yesterday, announcing that they have now sold more than 5 billion songs through their music program iTunes.

iTunes has also been crowed as the "Number 1 U.S. music retailer" by research firm NPD Group – selling even more music than huge American stores like Walmart and KMart.

Apple have also said that iTunes is renting and selling movies at the rate of around 50,000 each day which makes it the world's most popular online video store.

Users of Apple TV in the states are able to download and rent their movies very easily and then watch them on their big LCD screen – where as Australian users are currently being forced to either open up American accounts to access the content, or just wait until the content comes to Australia – hopefully later this year.
