Yahoo 7 Revamps it’s Website

Yahoo7In an effort to re-invigorate it’s position in the Australian market, the Yahoo7 portal have just launched a re-vamped website.

It’s actually not a lot better than the one they had. It’s still cluttered, jam packed with too much information and easy to get lost. These portal type websites often face this problem – how to neatly and clearly present all the information (and advertising) they can in just one window.

The colour purple has returned as a predominant feature of the Yahoo7 brand and the Yahoo yodel has also be brought back as the brand’s signature.

The initial changes are just to the front page, but the portal plans on releasing more changes to the other parts of the site over time. There’s also expectations of new partnerships being announced as the site continues to evolve.

One of the better features is the ability for a registered user to customise a lot of the page layout and content. The idea is that users will make it their home page and Yahoo7 has also upgraded their supporting hardware considerably as they expect traffic and visits to increase.

New features include:

  • integrated yahoo mail
  • easier search
  • local news & sports feeds on the home page
  • a section for widgets
  • entertainment news
  • local content
